I am a partner at the law firm of Bovis, Kyle, Burch & Medlin, LLC (BKBM). I work out of the firm’s primary Atlanta, Georgia, office. I handle or am responsible for lawyer liability claims, insurance coverage and bad faith claims, excess coverage, and premises liability matters throughout the southeastern United States. I am licensed in Georgia, Texas and Kentucky.
Although I have a broad litigation practice history, my practice has developed into a specialty of defending attorneys in various claims of liability, defending attorneys in bar complaints, defending other professionals in claims and licensing matters, representing insurance carriers in coverage disputes and declaratory judgment and bad faith litigation, and defending premises owners in various types of matters, including negligent security, mold and fall claims. This blog is focused on one of my primary practice areas, with a focus on lawyer liability claims and insurance coverage issues. Although I will discuss national cases and trends, my focus will be on Georgia law where most of my practice is focused.
My practice is significantly devoted to defending attorneys or handling disputes between attorneys, and this blog is devoted to the issues that affect attorneys. This is the site for attorneys to visit to keep abreast of trends in attorney liability and ethics issues in Georgia. My goal is to make this blog interesting and interactive, and has included input from other leading attorneys, insurance providers and other related professionals in the state.
